Working with my clients to achieve optimal skin results brings me so much joy. I have the privilege to participate in and witness holistic transformations that lead to improved self-image and confidence. I want to let you in on a little secret though...It all starts on the inside.
I am not just talking about your diet and health (although that does play a part). I am referring to the "inside job" of everyday wellness which creates a beautiful life.
And morning rituals are where it all starts. How you choose to begin your day sets the tone so why not put some effort in it?
Taking 5, 10 or even 15 minutes in the morning to sit in silence and allow yourself to connect with universal energy can prepare you for your day. So often the noise from our day begins from the moment we open our eyes. We check our phones, we read emails and even reply to text messages before we have had a chance to wake up. Begin the day with a silent pause that allows you to check in with yourself.
Beginning the day with warm lemon water has endless benefits. Warm lemon water flushes the digestive system and hydrates the body. Increasing your water intake can also improve your skin quality. There is an epidemic of dehydration, and it impacts everything from digestion to energy level. Making hydration a priority in the morning will set the pace for the day.
For most of us, there are a large number of constrictions during the work week. We sit in the car, we are constricted in our work environment, and we are either in motion taking care of household needs or reclining when we arrive home in the evening. Even if we manage to fit in a yoga class or a workout we are still following someone else's direction. When do we move freely, fluidly and creatively throughout the day? Take the time to connect with your body in the morning and keep that movement flowing all throughout your day.
I'm not talking about a masterpiece here. I am saying create anything. All day long we consume food, information, noise, other people's energy...the list goes on! Create something. Start very small. Create a decadent breakfast. Create a gratitude list. Create a thank you note to send to someone in your life. Like I said, start small!
